Overview

The CompTIA Network+ curriculum covers network technologies, installation and configuration, media and topologies, management and security. The Network+ course provides basic training in managing, maintaining, troubleshooting, installing and configuring a network infrastructure. Nine months of experience in network support or administration along with a CompTIA A+ certification is recommended before the Network+ course. Network+ certification is also a step towards attaining higher level vendor specific certifications such as Microsoft (MCSE, MCITP), Cisco (CCNA, CCNP) and Linux (Linux+, RHCE). Curriculum for this training covers a wide range of network skills and knowledge. Additionally, the course covers internet utilities, ports and protocols, connection devices, network models, TCP/IP, DNS and URLs, and network troubleshooting.

This course is ideal for people who are already working in the field, but who are not yet certified. However, it is also a good fit for individuals who have no prior experience, but want to get started in networking.
